Lonesome Dove: The Original Mini-Series Event is the acclaimed television adaptation of Larry McMurtry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Western novel. Starring Robert Duvall as Captain Augustus “Gus” McCrae and Tommy Lee Jones as Captain Woodrow F. Call, the miniseries follows two aging former Texas Rangers who embark on an ambitious cattle drive from the small Texas town of Lonesome Dove to Montana. Along the way, they encounter outlaws, Native Americans, settlers, former companions, and the unforgiving landscape of the American frontier. The story combines adventure, friendship, romance, loss, and the changing nature of the Old West.

The DVD release brings the complete original miniseries to home video, preserving its sweeping performances, memorable characters, and richly detailed depiction of frontier life. Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones anchor the production with powerful performances, while the large supporting cast adds depth to the sprawling story. With its epic cattle-drive sequences, dramatic confrontations, humor, and emotional storytelling, Lonesome Dove remains a landmark of Western television and an essential choice for fans of classic Westerns, historical dramas, and character-driven storytelling.
