Cursed (An Arthurian Retelling) (Hardcover)

*Very Good*

Cursed by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler is a dark reimagining of the legendary King Arthur story, told mainly from the perspective of Nimue, the girl who will become the Lady of the Lake. After her mother is killed, Nimue receives a mysterious and powerful sword called the Sword of Power and sets out to find the wizard Merlin. Along the way, she becomes caught in a dangerous conflict between the Fey, who are being persecuted, and the Red Paladins, who are determined to destroy magic.

The story puts a darker and more modern twist on familiar Arthurian characters and legends. It explores themes such as oppression, revenge, betrayal, war, and the abuse of power. Frank Miller’s artwork adds to the story’s dark atmosphere through dramatic illustrations, heavy shadows, and intense action. Overall, Cursed offers a fresh perspective on the Arthurian legend by making Nimue the central hero of the story.
